Leon R. Gross, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. In his career, he has performed over 15,000 cataract and refractive surgical procedures. He is a pioneer in cataract and lens implant surgery and LASIK, having served as a clinical investigator for 3M intraocular lenses and the FDA LASIK clinical trial. He was among the earliest to perform multifocal implant surgery in the U.S. He is listed in the Consumers Research Council of America Guide to America’s Top Ophthalmologists. He is devoted to providing state of the art eye care to the community in a setting of compassion and trust.
Dr. Gross is Medical Director of Thomas Eye Surgery Center, a division of Thomas Eye Group, where he was instrumental in its development. |
He has served as Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Emory University and as Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Emory University and his Doctor of Medicine at The Medical College of Georgia where he also completed his Residency in Ophthalmology.
A native of Atlanta, Dr. Gross is a Founding Member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and of the Georgia Aquarium. He is a PADI certified Rescue Scuba Diver. He is married and the father of two daughters. |
